Grasp life with everything you got

Life has it’s ups and downs… we all know that.  We all know how unfair life can be sometimes and how life can pass you by in a blink of an eye.  My whole life was put into perspective by a 9 year old boy named Sam Bish.  Sam passed away last week of cancer.  Sam was one of the strongest boys I’ve ever met and loved life and smiled no matter how much pain he was in.  Sam was a miracle.  Many will learn from his strength, many will be humbled by his will to live.  With that being said….  What gets you up each and every morning?  Is it the alarm clock?  Is it the coffee you have set on a timer?  Is it the dog?  Or is it your love for life? Sticking to a diet on the road

Face it, some of us simply can’t be stuck behind a desk all day long in a tiny cubicle staring at a computer monitor until our eyes cross. For those of you who are on the road majority of the year, I feel for you and I understand the stresses that come along with it.

Besides the obvious stress of being away from home and your loved ones, you have to deal with traffic for 8+ hours a day, deal with changing weather conditions during those hours, find a place to sleep each night based on the area you are working, and the topic of this article – proper nutrition while working out of your car.

I’ve been in the fitness industry for quite some time now, but have only been a true “road warrior” for a little over a year. Traveling isn’t as bad as people make it out to be – you get to see new places, sight-see while traveling, and meet a lot of new people.

The fork in the road comes when it’s time to eat. Most people grab something quick from a fast food restaurant – hence why a good portion of the US is overweight. If you don’t plan out each meal ahead of time you are setting yourself up for disaster.

Consider this your map to find your way to a healthy body even when you feel like you took a couple wrong turns on the way. Read the rest of this entry »

Inspiration Through Tragedy

Many people feel they have the strength and toughness to get through anything life throws at them.  A true alpha can adapt and survive no matter what.

Let me put you in a scenario…  You get hit by a car and have severe head trauma.  You finally get out of the hospital after spending 6 weeks in a coma and 3 1/2 months in the hospital.  You leave the hospita lto find you aren’t the same person mentally and physically.  You find yourself slipping into a depression and think the answer to fix it is alcohol.  Your last drink you pass out and probably shouldn’t wake up due to the excessive amount you had.  But luckily you do.  Do you continue down the dark path or do you find another outlet to deal with your emotions?

Dan Cox, a true alpha, found his outlet.  FITNESS!  Check out Dan Cox’s inspirational interview!

True Alpha FAMILY

Childhood obesity is on the rise and with many schools looking to get rid of physical education classes because they deem them “unnecessary”.  I wrote an article on CHILDHOOD OBESITY a little while back and the statistics that are out there are extremely scary.

Alpha for LIFE!

So you think you’re ALPHA?  Really?  You think you have what it takes?  Can you commit to the lifestyle?  After all, this is no 9-5 gig.  No, sir.  This is your LIFE.  No one is going to put a healthy lifestyle on a silver platter for you so you can sit there and do nothing to achieve the health and physique you have always wanted–no, you’re going to take it.  You’re going to learn it, you’re going to understand it, you’re going to live it!  THIS is what is going to set YOU apart from everyone else.  Everyone wants that “ideal” body, but no one wants to put in the work to get it.  But you do!

Being  a personal trainer, I’ve had my share of clients who simply paid me to be their “buddy” so to speak.  They didn’t care why they are there.  They didn’t care what I had them do.  They didn’t care to UNDERSTAND why I had them doing things.  It boggles my mind that someone can pay and go through life not knowing why they are doing something.  But again, YOU are different.  You have come to this website…  You have read the book.  YOU are looking for the knowledge of how to make a difference and take charge of your life.  Be a TRUE ALPHA!  Well you came to the right place.
